Is the Spotlight going dark?

Before the Christmas holiday, I was told on the DL that the owners of The Spotlight—one of L.A.'s oldest gay bars—had been persuaded to sell their Cahuenga Corridor spot. There was supposed to be a demolition party last night, but the man who just answered the phone seemed very confused when I asked him about it. Woops. I hope he didn't find out from me that he might be out of a job soon. (Head in hands.) If the rumor I heard is true, get ready for an intimate ultra lounge owned and named after someone in the jewelry business.
Speaking of jewelry: how hot is this bottle-opener-and-ring-in-one that my friend found? Only thing is, you can't actually use it when it's on your finger, which he learned the hard way!
